APRIL ADVENTURES

The end of another month brings us to another look back at our Instagram! Since we've been enjoying our Easter holidays this month, our posts show our life with some more time off, and in the well-needed sunshine!

https://instagram.com/eleven0hseven/

April was an exciting month for for us here at Eleven Oh Seven, with us creating our first ever mini-series called Festival Friday. With Coachella giving us major festival style inspiration, we covered Beauty looks, festival style we love and our top festival essentials. We also topped up on some of our beauty favourites ready for our summer make up and beauty must haves.

Between dreaming of Coachella, we celebrated Easter this month by painting eggs (with glitter of course!) and eating our body weight in chocolate. This month K also went to see her first love Ben Howard in Cardiff and spent a few days in Brussels for a mini city break (blog post to follow soon!)
At the end of the month we were reunited with our house-mates after our Uni Easter break and celebrated with cocktails and cheesecake inside a genuine campervan at Apple Jacks Cardiff

If you haven't already followed us on Instagram, go give our profile some love!

FESTIVAL FRIDAY: Festival Essentials

Today is the final instalment of our Festival Friday series, and today we talk through some of our festival essentials to help you have the most enjoyable time at a festival. Here are our top 5 things we think you should take with you to make your festival experience that little bit easier!

Baby Wipes & Anti-Bacterial Gel
These will be your best friend during a festival weekend! Realistically you will not have the opportunity to shower, and if you do you'll probably take one look at the facilities and decide that going with out a shower is better. In this case baby wipes are a crucial way for you to freshen up in-between showers. Anti-bacterial gel will be used by the gallon over the three days with sleeping in mud and dare I mention the portaloos?! Plus the soaps in the loos are not the best either.

Dry Shampoo
When the time comes that your hair needs a wash after a few days of festival-ing and your hair feels a little dull, dry shampoos are perfect to have in your travel bag. They're quick and easy to use and it'll transform your tired hair and add volume. Batiste are our favourite, they do a great range of dry shampoos in a range of scents and are super affordable.

Food Package
Festivals are filled with all different fast food trucks from Chinese to Mexican cuisines, the options are endless. With that said, the prices can sometimes be steep and eating greasy takeaway food for three days can take its toll and by the night of day two you're probably going to be craving some lighter snacks. This is why taking a food package filled with energy fuelled on-the-go snacks is a definite essential for us. This cute package idea we found on Pinterest may be a little too ideal but we love it!

Wellies
Especially with British festivals, wellies are essential (and more importantly, they go with everything). Whether it's rainy or sunny, the amount of walking (and dancing!) that happens on the festival fields, you need some comfy footwear that'll create a barrier for all the mud and spilled drinks! Ella Eyre is rocking the welly-boot style here with a pair of well-worn Hunters.

Polaroid
Finally, don't forget to pack your Polaroid camera to capture all those unforgettable moments.

We hope you find this list helpful when it comes to packing for festival season this year. What festivals are you heading off to? Let us know on our Twitter account! We hope you enjoyed our Festival Friday series.

Until Monday,

FESTIVAL FRIDAY: Hair & Make Up

This week's Festival Friday is all about beauty. We show you some of our favourite hair and make up looks to create (with a little help from Pinterest!) that are perfect for a festival!

Source: Pinterest

This is such an easy to style hairstyle. Braiding a few strands of your hair can look super cute and not too 'put-together'. Leaving your hair au natural or having it a little wavy (salt spray can work wonders for giving some texture to the hair) will leave your hair looking boho-chic and in the words of Beyoncé: "I woke up like this"

Source: Pinterest
What's a festival without a little glitter?! We love this cute look, using minimal face make up to really emphasise that gorgeous glitter. Just use a little bronzer and some mascara to complete this look.
If you can't go a little OTT at a festival, then where can you?!

When it comes to festival hairstyles, messy buns are a life saver. Not only to they disguise the fact that you may have not have had the opportunity to wash your hair in three days, but they are super quick and easy to do! This up do is also perfect for when you're in a large crowd, by stopping your hair from getting accidentally pulled during an impromptu mosh pit.

Coachella queen Vanessa Hudgens always looks the part when at a festival. We love this simple make up look on her, using some black eye-liner, bronzer and a few stick-on jewels across one cheek.

Festivals are the perfect time to don those flower crowns (wether they are tamed and subtle or wild and extravagant these flower crowns are a perfect accessory for your hair). As well as adding a pop of colour to your overall look, flower crowns are the perfect way to hide your roots if they begin to look dull or oily. These flower crowns look gorgeous with effortless waves.

We know that every make up look we have featured in this post so far has contained accessories, but lets face it doing your make up in a damp tent isn't the ideal place to spend time blending five different colours onto your eyelids. These flower face paints have become very popular (S remembers having daises scattered across her temples when she went to V festival) They're a perfect way to add colour and distract people from your tired eyes. A lot of festivals these days have stalls that can create these face paints.

If you have ever been to a festival before, you will know more than well that the last day is reserved for up do hairstyles. If you you don't like to wear their hair up (we have many a friend that don't) then this messy fish tail pig tail hair style is for you.

If you are not one to add face paint or accessories to your make up then this look is for you, another way to add a fun festival feel to your make up is to add colour to your eyes. This blue eyeliner is perfect for any eye colour, and adds a pop your make up without being too overpowering if you are looking for more of a natural look.

A Friday at Three Cliffs Bay

On Friday since the sun was shining, Eleven Oh Seven took a road trip to the Gower, to be more precise we went to Three Cliffs Bay. It was so breathtaking there we decided to show you some images from the day.

As we were walking S wore Timberland boots, river island leggings, a classic white t-shirt and a checked shirt.

As we walked across the cliff tops we couldn't help but feel we were in Northern Spain instead of South Wales.

After walking for two hours we decided to treat ourselves with the most delicious carrot cake ever!! (If you're ever at Three Cliffs Bay, go to the 'Three Cliffs Coffee Shop' in the small village of Southgate and try it for yourself... you won't be disappointed!)

We hope this post got you in the summer spirit, we definitely got excited for summer after our day by the sea!
See you Friday for another Festival Friday themed post.

FESTIVAL FRIDAY: Style

With Coachella kicking off festival season this weekend, we're bringing you our our first instalment of our Festival Friday series. Today we share some festival styles that we are loving at the moment, and our top fashion finds to help you create your festival look!

Boho Chic
When we think of festivals, we think of boho chic. This year we're loving the flowing styles for music festivals, (inspired by the image below) which adds a more chic look to the traditional look worn at festivals. We love our take on this style and this dress from ASOS can be worn after the festival too, it's a win-win situation! Paired with black ankle boots and a fringed shoulder bag, this outfit is just lovely.

Top Find!
Ever wondered where Vanessa Hudgens got her crochet crop from back in 2011?! Well here at Eleven Oh Seven we're very excited to find this lookalike gem whilst scrolling through ASOS. Online at £25, this top is perfect for any festival.

Cute & Practical
Who said basic has to be boring? Sometimes you need to keep your festival attire to the essentials, and if you're heading to a festival in the UK, you're more likely than not going to have to encounter some rain and mud! Thanks to Topshop, staying dry is a no-brainer with this cute pastel-trim mac, and paired with a pair of classic Hunter wellies (or a cheaper alternative like these ASOS ones), your simple festival look will be complete!

Co-ord Queen
Here at Eleven Oh Seven we love a good co-ord, and what better a place to show one off (and have an easy to throw together outfit!) than a music festival?! You can be as bold as you like, opting for a brightly coloured print or a bold Aztec design, you'll be sure to catch people's attention. We found this gorgeous Minkpink co-ord on ASOS and have fallen in love! Flares are an easy way to wear the popular 70s trend this festival season, just be sure to accessorise with a big floppy hat, round sunnies and some gold transfer tattoos!

Grunge Glam
Who can pull off grunge glam better than the Jenner sisters themselves?! (Seen here at Coachella 2014) With grunge glam being so popular lately we couldn't help but add a grunge inspired outfit to our style guide. We particularly love the Gothic-rose kimono from New Look paired with this red flower crown to add a little pop of colour to the outfit.

If that didn't give you enough ideas for festival fashion, be sure to check out our Instagram as we will be posting our favourite looks from this year's Coachella. Are you heading to a festival this year? We'd love to hear your style tips on twitter!

Have a brilliant weekend, and stay tuned for our next Festival Friday post all about Hair & Make Up looks.

#BRANDFAVES

Being fashion students, and being stereotypical girls in this sense, we love to shop. Whether it's window-shopping whilst waiting for our student loans to come in or stocking up on basics, it's pretty much a favourite hobby. (Shopping can count as cardio too, right?!)
So this month for a #faves post, we thought we'd tell you about our favourite fashion brands, ranging from high street to high end. Here are our #BrandFaves:

1. Topshop
Topshop is our go to high street store, whether we're looking for a statement outfit or a crop from their basic collection we are always sure to find what we're looking for in Topshop. The variety of trends that are in each store makes it suitable for all tastes. Topshop's flagship store in London always seems to find its way onto our itinerary whenever we are in the city.  If you haven't been you should definitely check it out! It even has a cupcake shop on the ground floor!

2. ASOS
ASOS is our favourite online-retailer by far. Not only catering to us with student discount and deals, but the range of brands they sell is diverse and offers a lot of inspiration when we're dreaming of new outfits. Having a stylists' page is also one of our favourite features of the website. You can follow different personal styles and see what picks from the website they choose!

3. New Look
This brand has always been a firm favourite for us from when the store first came to Cardiff. You can always rely on New Look for being reasonably priced and always on-trend! In our eyes, you can never go wrong with a pair of New Look shoes!

4. Mulberry
What girl doesn't like bags, right?! And Mulberry have to be by far our favourite luxury accessories brand. Their classic designs means that these bags will never go out of fashion and will be appropriate for all occasions. It's not only their beautiful deign and craftsmanship that make Mulberry one of our favourite brands; their promotional campaigns and events are a high source of inspiration for our own work.

5. Ted Baker
We fell in love with Ted Baker last year and since then S has accumulated a Ted Baker Make Up bag, Wash bag and a dress from this classically British brand. We are particularly attracted to their prints and feminine designs, as well as their accessories. (We have our eye on their bags and especially this dreamy luggage!)

6. Burberry
Being the brand that first inspired S to do fashion, we couldn't not include this Great British brand in our list. Burberry continue to design beautiful garments season after season and their classic trench coats and newly developed beauty ranges aree to die for.

Well that is it for our favourite brands, we hope this made you want to go and start shopping for your summer closet! It certainly has for us! We are very exited to revamp our style this summer.
This Friday's blog post sees the first in our new Festival Friday series: see you then!

FROM US TO YOU

Welcome to April at Eleven Oh Seven!

This month we have a lot going on being our Easter holidays and with us enjoying a well-deserved break from Uni and being inspired by the upcoming festival season (did someone say Coachella?!) this is what we have planned!

With Coachella happening next month (the weekend that for us kick-starts the festival season), here at Eleven Oh Seven we decided to create a month long series every Friday called 'Festival Friday'. Each week we will create a festival guide covering everything you'll need to know: from fashion style to essentials.

Since S has gone back home for the Easter break, she shows you around her home town. From the breathtakingly beautiful landscape to Heavenly Ice Cream, we show you the town S calls home.

Even though Easter is a time to chill out and recharge your batteries (especially if you're in Uni or school with a long break like us!), it also means that exam-season is coming up, starting in May. This month, we share some of our top tips to cope with exam-related stress and the best ways we feel we can prepare for them.

We hope all of you are enjoying your Bank Holiday today and have an eggcellent Easter weekend!

Until next time,
