Why We Love an Easter Weekend!

Happy Easter everyone!
Easter weekend has finally arrived. For some, Easter can be a more enjoyable holiday than even Christmas with much less hype and stress. With more time off work, Easter can truly be a time to enjoy with family and friends. The Easter holiday also means a four day weekend here in the UK, something that doesn't happen often. So with that said, today's post is all about four reasons we love Easter weekend!

1. Time to relax: With a four day weekend, Easter is the perfect time to relax and recharge our batteries. It's the perfect opportunity to make more time for ourselves whether it's having a few hours extra in bed or taking some time in the afternoon to relax in the bath with some Easter inspired bath products. Lush have a beautiful Easter/Spring collection which we talked about in our previous post.

2. Seeing family and friends: Easter for many families is the first major holiday after Chistmas when the whole family will be sitting around the same table enjoying each other's cooking and company. The Easter weekend is also a great opportunity to meet and catch up with friends.

3. Films: Like Christmas, in the UK many of the TV channels will be showing old films throughout Easter weekend. We personally can't wait to watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on Sunday afternoon!

4. Treats: Finally, how could we talk about the Easter weekend without mentioning chocolate?! The one weekend when not eating chocolate is frowned upon, we will most definitely be enjoying an egg or two before the weekend is over!

We hope you all are enjoying your Easter weekend and eat as many chocolate eggs as possible!
 See you next week,

LUSH EASTER EVENT & HAUL

Hello all!
You may have noticed our absence from blogging over the past few months due to our crazy Uni work schedules, so what better than our first post back to be a Lush-inspired one!

Last month, we were invited to Lush Cardiff's most recent blogger event to celebrate the new season product releases for Easter and Spring. So if you're on a chocolate detox, or fancy giving someone something a little different this Easter weekend, read on to see what Lush have to offer!

Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb

When we arrived, we were met by the lovely Aimée who showed us around the Spring and Easter products. How cute are those ladybird bubble bars?!  A definite favourite for us was Fluffy Egg: if you love the Christmas Snow Fairy scent, then this bath bomb is for you! Not only does it smell super candy-sweet but also turns your bath the most gorgeous shade of pink.

Easter favourite Golden Egg is back and is as glittery as ever! This product doubles up as a bath bomb and a melt, allowing the cocoa butter and scented oils to be slowly released into your bath, making it feel super luxurious and relaxing.  Bubble bar Bunch of Carrots is also back and has had a colourful update, with the pink and purple additions! These are another favourite for us after having a demo from Aimée and smelling the gorgeous citrus-scent from the bergamot and lemon oils. These are also reusable, making it a great option if you're looking for a longer-lasting product.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow soap is just gorgeous to look at with it's bright colour and iridescent sheen (it's so impressive as a whole, as all of the Lush soaps are!) but also smells divine - with a subtle fruity undertone. K is yet to use hers but can't wait! Also, how lovely is this patterned paper?! Another Lush touch - great for gift-giving purposes!

Other Easter favourites were bath bombs Humpty Dumpty and Which Came First. Both products can be used across three baths, due to their amazing design. When cracked, these bath bombs reveal another element inside! Perfect for little ones to get involved or if you love little surprises. As we mentioned, you can split these across a few baths, or pop the whole thing in for a super indulgent one!

Lush also have a range of amazing Easter-themed gifts, from the Rainbow box above (featuring two products) to the adorable Humpty Dumpty-themed Good Egg below (featuring six products).

After testing the new products, we headed upstairs to have a look at the shower goodies and (no surprise here) face masks.

We'd heard about shower jellies before, but hadn't tried them out and were a bit unsure of how well they'd work! Bouncy Bunny is the cutest addition to the shower jelly family, and after a demo, we were sold. The product was so soft on the skin and smells lovely and citrus-y. Plus shower jellies only take a little lathering and are reusable, definitely worth the money.

While upstairs, we chatted to Aimée about Lush's haircare range, shower creams and fresh face masks. American Cream hair conditioner leaves your hair silky smooth (frizzy ends and all) and smells faintly of strawberries and vanilla cream. We were both obsessed with this product and had to get it!

As you may know, we're both Lush face mask obsessives, and at least one of us buys one every time we visit the store! Cupcake smells so chocolatey, it's hard not to eat! This mask works as a deep cleanser, with the cocoa powder drawing out impurities from the skin. Since K has more spot-prone skin, this product is great to give your face a deep clean and leaves it feeling silky soft.
K also stocked up on her favourite shower cream: The Comforter.

The amazing team at Lush Cardiff gave us all little bags of goodies to take home and try (thank you!) from the new collection: Ladybird, Fluffy Egg, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Rose Bombshell, pictured below!

Rose Bombshell bath bomb is beautifully rose-scented (as the name hints) and includes yellow rose petals inside as you can see here. It's a little larger than regular Lush bombs, and this really comes through in the strength of the floral scent and lovely pink colour the bath turns!

We love these evenings as not only do we get to see all the new products in action, but get to have a good chat to the girls who work there and can recommend us other products depending on our skin type etc.  A huge thank you again to all the staff at Lush Cardiff for putting on another amazing event and for giving us some goodies to try!

APRIL ADVENTURES

The end of another month brings us to another look back at our Instagram! Since we've been enjoying our Easter holidays this month, our posts show our life with some more time off, and in the well-needed sunshine!

https://instagram.com/eleven0hseven/

April was an exciting month for for us here at Eleven Oh Seven, with us creating our first ever mini-series called Festival Friday. With Coachella giving us major festival style inspiration, we covered Beauty looks, festival style we love and our top festival essentials. We also topped up on some of our beauty favourites ready for our summer make up and beauty must haves.

Between dreaming of Coachella, we celebrated Easter this month by painting eggs (with glitter of course!) and eating our body weight in chocolate. This month K also went to see her first love Ben Howard in Cardiff and spent a few days in Brussels for a mini city break (blog post to follow soon!)
At the end of the month we were reunited with our house-mates after our Uni Easter break and celebrated with cocktails and cheesecake inside a genuine campervan at Apple Jacks Cardiff

If you haven't already followed us on Instagram, go give our profile some love!

A Friday at Three Cliffs Bay

On Friday since the sun was shining, Eleven Oh Seven took a road trip to the Gower, to be more precise we went to Three Cliffs Bay. It was so breathtaking there we decided to show you some images from the day.

As we were walking S wore Timberland boots, river island leggings, a classic white t-shirt and a checked shirt.

As we walked across the cliff tops we couldn't help but feel we were in Northern Spain instead of South Wales.

After walking for two hours we decided to treat ourselves with the most delicious carrot cake ever!! (If you're ever at Three Cliffs Bay, go to the 'Three Cliffs Coffee Shop' in the small village of Southgate and try it for yourself... you won't be disappointed!)

We hope this post got you in the summer spirit, we definitely got excited for summer after our day by the sea!
See you Friday for another Festival Friday themed post.

MARCH MADNESS

As March comes to a close, we look back at the first glimpse of Spring though our Instagram's eyes.

The month began with a big University deadline which we celebrated with a launch party at Buffalo bar in Cardiff. We created a Mothers Day Gift Guide to help each other with ideas for the perfect Mothers Day gift.  S also showed us around Paris with her 48 Hours in Paris post. Mid-March saw the changing of the seasons: Spring had sprung which made us think about our beauty regimes with K talking about her Hair Essentials to us receiving a Tweet from Liz Earle herself (you can imagine the excitement)!
The end of March at Eleven Oh Seven was all about Easter with two Easter-themed posts: a style guide and a favourites post. Here are some images to help sum up this busy yet exiting month:

We also welcomed in Spring with dreaming about fresh flowers, celebrating International Women's Day with this gorgeous type-quote from Harley Quinn & Co and treating ourselves to some amazing waffles at Kaspa's Desserts in Cardiff.

Have a peek at more of our Instagram photos here to see more of what we got up to this month.
We're also now up and running on Bloglovin' so go check us out on there too!
We hope you had a lovely March and be sure to check back here on Friday for a post all about our plans for April!

EASTER FAVOURITES

Happy Friday!
Today is another Easter inspired post. In appreciation of our Easter break beginning today we decided to share with some of our Easter favourites. From chocolate to décor, we hope you enjoy!

Nails: Recently we have been loving these pastel nail polishes from Ciaté. Nothing says spring to us more than pastel polished nails. These soft colours are a great way to start introducing colour back into your style after the darker winter months.

Spring Ciaté nails!

Chocolate: It wouldn't be Easter without an Easter themed chocolate treat (or two) now, would it?! Lindt bunnies are our personal favourite indulgence over the Easter period: they're (almost) too cute to eat!

Treat: As you may have already guessed from previous posts, we love to bake! And Easter gives us a great opportunity to do so, whether it being a more traditional Simnel Cake or taking advantage of Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs in the shops this season.

DIY: A cute and easy idea to brighten up your home or add some Easter decoration to the house is to decorate eggs. Easily created by painting, drawing on, dyeing or embellishing eggs, it's a small decoration but looks super effective! Have a look at our Pinterest board for more examples; we're obsessed with this idea this season!

Décor: We thought that floral wreaths were only used for Christmas, but after seeing this Easter wreath we couldn't help but fall in love! The use of decorated eggs in the wreath adds that Easter feel to the spring florals. This wreath would be the perfect Easter touch to your home over the holiday. (even our Mothers are thinking of getting one!)

Animals: For our final Easter favourite we going to leave you with some photos of cute Spring animals, because who doesn't love chicks and lambs?!

EASTER STYLE GUIDE

With Easter just around the corner, today at Eleven Oh Seven we share with you some of our favourite style ideas for the Easter weekend. Whether like us you celebrate Easter with a family Easter dinner or are planning a Good Friday brunch with your friends, here are some outfit and beauty ideas for you to try out!

T-shirt: ASOS, Skirt: ASOS, Bag: Paul's Boutique, Shoes: Zara
When we think of this season, pastels instantly spring to mind, so we couldn't not include an outfit based on these gorgeous hues. We opted for pink as the staple colour for this outfit as it's a subtle pop of colour and is super-girly. This pink pencil skirt is sophisticated and paired with a tucked-in slouchy tee, it makes an effortless look worn in the day or out for a meal and drinks in the evening. This reversible clutch is perfect for this look, as you can opt for either grey or metallic pink to take the outfit from day to night.

These gorgeous beachy waves compliment the outfit perfectly as we wanted to keep the look quite casual. This hairstyle is also really easy to achieve and is a good transitional look from Winter into Spring and Summer.

We think this effortless and glowing make up look is perfect to compliment the beachy waves and the pastel outfit, with the nude-pink lip and use of highlighter on the cheekbones brightens the look to make it fresh for Spring.

Top: Topshop, Trousers: ASOS, Bag: Topshop, Shoes: New Look

This outfit gives an edgy twist to the classic 'florals for spring' with a slight Gothic-esque floral print. If you are looking for a different option rather than a feminine classic spring outfit, this sleek and tailored style is for you. The printed trousers are the staple piece of the outfit, and we feel that these trousers would look best paired with a classic black crop top and court heel. To complete the look we added a small grey satchel bag which pulls out the grey detail in the trousers.

We feel this hair is perfect with the above outfit! The braided detail in the hair adds a strong statement to the hair. You can lighten the style up by adding beachy waves to the hair or create a sleek style by straightening the hair or adding a ponytail.

This make up is fresh and light which is perfect for spring. The lip colour perfectly matches the trousers without being too dark and Wintry.

We hope you found some inspiration from these looks, and we'd love to see what looks you're loving this Easter season! Let us know on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #SpringAtElevenOhSeven.

See you on Friday for another Easter-inspired post!
